Last weekend I was fortunate to attend IMPACT 2012, the national conference on student volunteering mentioned last week in our pre-IMPACT blog. The weekend saw the congregation of representatives throughout the student volunteering world, including delegates from 40 universities coming together to discuss the future of UK student volunteering.

This weekend, Oxford Brookes University plays host to Impact 2012, the national conference on student volunteering and social action supported by Student Hubs.
Aimed at anyone involved in the sector, including volunteers, the conference will provide an opportunity to discuss the future of student voluntary action. This is a perfect time to be discussing student action, as it is Student Volunteering Week on from 20th – 26th February.

The Good Childhood Report 2012 published earlier this month by The Children’s Society, gives us rich food for thought. Perhaps not surprisingly it found that family is the most important factor in children’s well-being, particularly its harmony and stability.
