Our flagship full-time volunteering programme gives young people the opportunity to develop their skills while shaping public and voluntary services.

In 2010 we piloted our high quality, structured volunteering placements in Children's and Young People's services in Local Authorities and Further Education Colleges across England. The scheme was then broadened out to include charities such as Brook, the sexual health charity.

The aim of the game is to get 2,000 young volunteers engaged for 30 hours or more of their time over 44 life-changing weeks, with at least 40% of placements given to young people not in employment, education or training.  

We throw in:

• a residential weekend to prepare the young people for their placement, during which they have a go at a skills audit
• the opportunity to achieve a Level 2 qualification
• the chance of a personal development grant to the tune of £1,500 when the placement is up
